WORK HISTORY

Aug. 2006-Present    Junior High Science Teacher, St. Paul Public Schools,; Murray Jr High
Created units and rubrics for, and taught Life Science and Magnet (Challenge) Science. Member of Site Council.  Member of Leadership Team, whose mission is to create site-based programs for improving school climate and student achievement. Assisted in SCIP creation for school year 2009-2010.  Participated in several MCA II Science test panels including question writing, data analysis, and alternate assessments.  Currently team-teaching three sections of Life Science with high concentrations of Special Ed and ELL students.  Supervised student teachers and mentored probationary teachers.   Leader/facilitator of science department Professional Development Plan/ Professional Learning Committee.   Recently completed administrative field service hours in Murray’s after school program.

Created units and rubrics for, and taught Earth Science, Life Science, Science Investigations, Challenge Science, Reading, and Personal Development classes.  Created many interdisciplinary units that fulfilled content standards in multiple areas.  Lead staff development training/PLC on Principles of Learning with elective teachers and support staff.  Supervised student teachers and mentored new teachers.  Created the junior high class schedules with the Master Schedule team.  Developed a course description catalog, course registration process, and quarterly class lists for junior high electives.  Member, Co-chair of Monroe Site Council.  Assisted in creating goals for SCIP over several years.
